About Ella
Loving Ella
Ella was a beautiful, loving and vibrant 8 year old who passed away suddenly in a tragic accident in 2010. Her favorite things were riding her bike, playing with friends and working on art projects. She used rocks, buttons, string and a million other things in her artistic creations. Her passion and enthusiasm for life is remembered dearly by all who knew her.
What is Ella’s Fund?
In honor of Ella’s love of art, her family and friends decided to raise funds in her memory for the then-new Children’s Museum of Sonoma County. They established the Ella Bisbee Fund at the Community Foundation of Sonoma County and participated in a local fundraiser, The Human Race. Many fundraisers followed and with vast community support, nearly $180,000 was provided to the Children’s Museum.
In 2012 the museum opened their doors, and Ella’s Art Studio became a place where other children who loved art as Ella did could create, play and explore. More than 500,000 children have benefited from the Art Studio to date, and the museum has become a standout among children’s museums across the US.
